What do you think are the chances of long wheelbase midsize sedans going global? I know it’s currently “a China thing, you wouldn’t understand,” but I would like to! These models look good and I like them more than standard wheelbase versions of fullsize luxo-barges. If the US S-Class, new 7-series, and G90 are any indicators, we may only receive the LWB versions of the fullsizers as it stands. I wouldnt mind receiving these LWB midsizers to replace the current SWB versions of models like the XJ, A8, and LS.

I’m not saying don’t offer SWB fullsize sedans, just to make that version a large driver’s car. Let the midsize and fullsize LWB sedans be the driven versions.

I also think these extended midsize sedans are a clever way of sneaking Chinese-made cars into the US (which would have caused riot a decade ago). Im impressed woth how much we blast movie previews over the Internet that where cars are made is becoming less of a concern (for good reason). Selling the low volume luxury sedans is a great way to monitor and present the quality of the manufacturing to naysayers. Volvo and Buick are the first to bring over current Chinese built cars to the US. I don’t see why other automakers wouldn’t take advantage of all these new plants they’ve built.

Well Ive noticed that no one has rioted, so I wonder how long it will take for a Chinese brand to enter the North American Market? Could be a good match for Genesis (Korea), Alfa Romeo (Italy), DS (France), and Tesla (US) as far as new US luxury options go.

Jaguar XF LWB for your time

It’s more of an Indiana thing.

Odd things, those Chinese market (can we say CDM now?) lwb models. Why, say, an A4 lwb rather than an A6, or a 5 series lwb rather than a 7?

Much cheaper probably.

LWB tells you the rear seat comfort, convenience, and features are the focus. Once you bump it up a model name, it’s again the pilot and copilot positions that are the focus. That’s all I’ve got, but it’s true even in the XJ to XJL. Driver vs Driven

Not only what Wobbles says, but I can’t imagine it hurts to have a midsize track width in Chinese traffic.

I would buy a LWB version of a car every time. I don’t see a reason why not to

Humility. People there don’t like to brag, therefore they’d rather have a lesser car with the space of what they really want.

I’m totally sure that’s why.
